Clayton H. - Entry #12

I have... had... a 29 gallon saltwater with a canister filter on it. It wasn’t a great tank by other people’s standards, but I was proud of it. It had a six line wrasse that I purchased to combat a pesky flatworm outbreak that didn’t get resolved by using flatworm exit and other tactics. Azule (the six line) did his job though and I never noticed a flatworm after putting him into the tank. It also had two clown fish (dot and stripe) that I got when they were little and watched them grow that I had to watch pass away in the cold. Also acouple coral that I was starting to get into (hammer, frogspawn, zoas and mushrooms).
I tried to keep the water warm by heating up water in bottles and placing them in the tank, and keep it oxygenated by stirring the water every 10 minutes. After 2 days of this (without power and clean water), I ran out of on-hand clean water and had to leave to stay with a friend that had electricity/water. Unfortunately I lost everything in the tank except 3 hermit crabs, which are the only reason the tank is still running.
I’m not totally sure what I am going to do yet, be it tear it down and take a break, or rebuild it. The pain of losing 3 little fish and some coral that meant a lot to me has been alot.
If I was to win this CADE - which is my dream setup - I would take it as a sign to keep going in the hobby and to rebuild asap, but really take my time making it all perfect (and invest the extra funds in a generator).
Here are some pictures, thank y’all for doing this.
