Johnnie Baylor - Entry #25

I woke up at 2am to the power going out in the whole neighborhood, made an eerie noise. Looked outside to see all this snow out of nowhere. I immediately went to get my 15 month old daughter to my wife to keep her warm, as i went to go check everything out. With everything going on i could not return to sleep so i tended my 2 tanks, one fresh one saltwater tank, as the tempatures dropped faster than i could boil water to float in containers. Hours went by me doing this and the sun was going to be down soon, as the whole town had no power, and water pressure seized to exist. We had to make a tough choice on my wife and babys safety as the house dropped to 50 degrees, and i drove them to our familys apartment that still had power a city over. The next morning i woke up and drove by myself to try and save what i could out of the tanks. Unfortunately i was too late already. The house temperature dropped to 45 degrees and the tanks dropped to 52 and 55 degrees. All my fish and coral lifeless and colorless. In one day i went from a colorful happy tank, so a milky lifeless graveyard. Even after trying yo manually aerate and keep temperatures up till the very last second i could. My daughter loved pointing at the fish and following along with her eyes as the fish raced across, and the corals color's popped in their lights. It would be amazing to be able to receive help in getting up and running again to see my daughters eyes and smile pop as i raise her to hopefully grow into this hobby one day
